Monaghan University of the Third Age (U3A) - Supporting the Gathering

As a contribution to the Gathering Ireland 2013, Monaghan U3A is hosting a significant all-island conference in The Four Seasons Hotel, Monaghan Town on the 17th October.

The theme for the conference is "Positive Living in the Third Age - Enhancing the Golden Years".

The conference will address the challenges, opportunities and policies that will be pursued both within Ireland and the wider European Union to promote a rewarding and life enhancing older age.

Uniquely the conference will bring together within the same forum Kathleen Lynch TD, Minister of State with responsibility for Older People; Claire Keatinge, Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland and Marian Harkin MEP for Ireland North and West constituency.

There will be a strong cross border emphasis and participation in the conference is open to all. The attendance will include members of the U3A movement from Northern Ireland and the Republic.
